Trade between China and the United States in January - April fell by 11.2%

The volume of trade turnover between China and the United States in January-April of this year decreased year-on-year by 11.2%, to $217.9 billion, the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China announced this on Tuesday.

Exports from China to the United States during this period collapsed by 14.3% and amounted to $158.25 billion. Deliveries from the United States to China during this time decreased by 2%, to $59.67 billion, according to data published on the customs website. At the same time, the US remains China’s largest trading partner.

In April, the volume of trade between the two countries amounted to $56.36 billion, down 5.7% compared to March. China supplied the United States with goods worth $43.02 billion. Imports to China from the United States amounted to $13.34 billion.

In 2021, China-US trade grew by 28.7% to $755.64 billion. In 2022, it reached $759.4 billion, up 0.6%.
