Iran and Russia may cancel visas for citizens of the two countries. This was stated today, February 13, by the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic in Moscow, Kazem Jalali, at a press conference in the Russia Today media group on the occasion of the 44th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.
“Iran agrees with the abolition of visas between the two countries. We have even taken steps in our country to address this issue. We are waiting for the opinions of Russian officials. If Russia, like us, declares that there is such a readiness, we can announce a visa-free regime in a short time,” – said the Iranian diplomat.
According to the head of the diplomatic mission, the Iranian side is ready for the mutual abolition of visas already this year.
In the near future, Russians will be able to freely visit all the countries of the Persian Gulf, as reported by EADailyDecember 16, 2022, said the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Bogdanov.
