Surgical operation in the District Cardiology Dispensary

Doctors from St. Petersburg flew to Surgut (KhMAO) to save a teenager with a rare heart defect. This was reported to URA.RU in the press service of the district health department.

“A 17-year-old girl was taken to a hospital with Ebstein anomaly. This is a very rare pathology of the heart, in which the tricuspid valve is incorrectly formed and displaced into the cavity of the right ventricle. To cure the child, doctors of several specialties from different cities united. For this purpose, one of the leading experts in Russia in the treatment of congenital heart defects flew to Surgut from St. Petersburg: cardiac surgeon Ruben Movsesyan and cardiologist, ultrasound specialist Andrey Tsytko,” the ministry said.

Both guests from the northern capital work in the Children’s City Multidisciplinary Clinical Specialized Center for High Medical Technologies. The institution has extensive experience in correcting this anomaly. Under the guidance of doctors from St. Petersburg, Surgut doctors performed two operations on the girl.

The Cardiodispensary in Surgut became the first regional clinic to perform a cone reconstruction operation for Ebstein’s anomaly. “Arrhythmologist Ilya Silin, with the help of a low-traumatic operation, eliminated Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome in a teenager, which often accompanies Ebstein anomaly. A couple of days later, a second surgical intervention was prescribed, already on the open heart. The competitive reconstruction operation lasted 4.5 hours. A day later, the child was transferred to a regular ward, ”the department added.

Earlier, URA.RU reported that KhMAO doctors saved a baby with heart disease and pneumonia. Doctors fought for the life of the baby for more than a month.
