Assam News: Case of kidnapping and physical torture of girl on MLA of Assam, said in clarification – all allegations are false

Guwahati: In Assam, All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) MLA Ashraful Hussain has been booked for abducting and physically assaulting a girl. The victim has lodged a case against the MLA at Dispur police station in Guwahati. Hussain is the MLA from Chenga assembly constituency of Barpeta district. In the FIR, the victim alleged that Ritul Hussain, one of Hussain’s associates, and his friends abducted her from Barpeta. As per the complaint, he was forcefully brought to the MLA Quarters in Guwahati, where he was physically and mentally tortured for a long period of time.

The girl also alleged that she was also forced to sign the marriage contract. Talking to media persons on Wednesday, the victim’s father said that Ritul Hussain kidnapped my daughter while she was going to college to appear for the exam. He claimed that MLA Ashraful Hussain was the mastermind behind the kidnapping of his daughter.

MLA denies allegations

The father said, the MLA used to pay his men to commit such crimes. My daughter was released after repeated calls from some locals in Chenga. Meanwhile, Ashraful Hussain denied the allegations leveled against him. The AIUDF MLA said that these are completely baseless allegations. The family is trying to malign my image and I am going to file a defamation case against them.

MLA said: incident of love affair

Hussain said that there was a love affair behind the whole incident. He said that I know Ritul Hussain. The girl came to my house with him and I think she had a love affair. I am not involved in this matter anywhere.

BJP called the incident unfortunate

Reacting to the incident, BJP MLA Prashant Phukan said, it is unfortunate that an MLA has been accused of kidnapping.
