More than 40 cars were set on fire at a car factory in northern France

At least 40 vehicles were completely burned out in an arson attack at the Stellantis car factory in northern France. This was reported on February 12 by the France Presse agency.

The incident took place in the commune of Sasho. It is specified that the protection of the car factory at 04:30 (06:30 Moscow time) on February 12 discovered an unauthorized entry into the warehouse. According to the guards, they noticed only one intruder, who managed to escape from the scene.

It is noted that the intentions of the attackers were not fully understood, the management of the car factory suggests that setting fire to cars could be a distraction. In total, 52 Peugeot 3008 and 5008 crossovers, which had just rolled off the assembly line, were affected by the fire. The cars were parked under solar panels, also damaged by the fire and likely to have contributed to the spread of the flames.

As a result of the fire, at least 40 cars were completely destroyed. The police are investigating the cause and circumstances of the incident.
