Vedomosti: a political scientist from Yekaterinburg will become Sobyanin’s competitor

A political scientist from Yekaterinburg, the head of the metropolitan branch of the Just Russia party, Dmitry Gusev, will become one of the candidates for the post of mayor of Moscow. This was stated by party member and deputy of the State Duma of Russia Mikhail Delyagin.

“It is logical when the head of the branch goes to the elections in the region,” Vedomosti newspaper reports the words of Mikhail Delyagin. At the same time, the State Duma deputy added that he would support his candidacy. In addition, a source close to the State Duma added that the most likely candidate from A Just Russia would be Dmitry Gusev. However, Dmitry Gusev himself suggested waiting for the final decision.

A political scientist from Yekaterinburg graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy of the Ural State University named after Gorky, and later graduated from the Ural State Law Academy. Later, Gusev was a member of the Yekaterinburg City Duma from 1996 to 2001.

Elections for the post of mayor of Moscow will be held on September 10, but no party has officially announced the nomination of candidates. Earlier, URA.RU reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his full support for the current mayor of Moscow during their meeting in the Kremlin on January 20.
