According to her, the United States is extremely interested in the restoration of dialogue with Russia on strategic stability and the resumption of inspections. Jenkins noted that START implementation is essential to maintaining US national security.

At the same time, the Deputy Secretary of State expressed regret that Russia allegedly links the discussion of this topic with the conflict in Ukraine.

As reported IA REGNUM, earlier the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation issued a statement responding to accusations from the United States. The document said that Russia, through diplomatic channels, explained to the United States the inconsistency of the accusations against Moscow about non-compliance with the provisions of the START, but Washington continues to ignore this.
