There are no limits on electricity consumption in all regions of Ukraine. This was announced on Sunday by the press service of the state company Ukrenergo.
“Thanks to the repair work and the commissioning of two NPP units, as well as a decrease in consumption on a day off, there is no power shortage in the energy system. Consumption limits for the day on February 12 were not set”, the company said in a statement.
Ukrenergo stressed that the abolition of consumption limits applies only to February 12.
“With the beginning of the working week and the growth in consumption characteristic of it, restrictions may return,” – said the company.
It is noted that now electricity consumption remains significant due to lower temperatures, although less than on a weekday, and that if consumption increases, emergency shutdowns can be applied.
“In particular, this applies to Odessa, Kyiv, Khmelnytsky, Zhytomyr regions and Kyiv”, – warned in “Ukrenergo”.
The company also reported that, in addition to its own generation, Ukraine continues to import electricity from abroad.
