In Tuva, a criminal case has been opened on the fact of killing a man during a hunt, reported in the republican administration of the Investigative Committee of Russia. The department did not release the name of the suspect. According to Kommersant’s information, the member of the United Russia regional parliament, 44-year-old Echis-Baldir Nurzat, is involved in the case, under part 1 of Art. 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (causing death by negligence), he faces up to two years in prison.
The incident, according to investigators, occurred on the night of February 12 in the town of Khondey near the village of Naryn (Erzinsky district). The hunter, having seen the target through the thermal imager of the Huntsman VPO-114 gun and mistaking it for a wolf, pulled the trigger. A 38-year-old local resident was shot in the head and died on the spot.
