The death toll from a gas explosion in a five-story building in Novosibirsk has increased to 14. This information was provided by the governor of the region Andrei Travnikov during an operational meeting.

A gas explosion occurred in the Zaeltsovsky district of Novosibirsk on February 9. As a result of the incident, two entrances of a residential building collapsed. 50 people were evacuated from the building. According to the latest data, the death toll has increased.

“14 people died,” Travnikov said.

Two people were seriously injured and continue to be in intensive care. Rescuers completed the removal of debris around 10:00 Moscow time on February 10. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on the incident.
