The US authorities considered the objects shot down over Canada to be balloons

The American leadership believes that the objects found and shot down on Sunday in space over the state of Alaska and Canada were balloons. This was stated by the leader of the Democratic majority in the US Senate Chuck Schumer.

Earlier on February 12, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau reported that an American F-22 military aircraft had eliminated an unidentified object in the sky over the country.

The politician explained that he had given the appropriate order in connection with the violation of the airspace of the state, and also clarified that the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) was dealing with the issue.

“[Власти США] think they were [воздушные шары — Прим. ред.]but much smaller than the first, ”RIA Novosti quotes the senator.

By the first balloon, Schumer meant a Chinese meteorological balloon, which, as the Parliamentary Gazette reported, the American side shot down on February 5 off the coast of South Carolina.
