State Duma deputy from United Russia Oleg Morozov suggested that Ukraine designate February 24 as the Day of Getting Rid of “State Drug Addiction”. This is how he commented on the news that the Ukrainians want to cancel three Soviet holidays.
“I propose to Ukraine to declare February 24 a national holiday, the Day of Getting Rid of State Drug Addiction,” leads his words to RIA Novosti.
The Russian politician added that June 18, the birthday of Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov, should be celebrated as “All-Ukrainian Kleptomaniac Day.” However, speaking seriously, Morozov called such decisions taken by the Verkhovna Rada “insane logic.”
As Life has already said, in Ukraine it was proposed to cancel May Day, Victory Day and March 8. The Soviet holidays have already found a replacement. Now the country can begin to celebrate the Day of the Ukrainian woman, the birthday of Taras Shevchenko, as well as the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation on May 8.
