According to the latest information from the department, seven victims of the explosion are in the hospital, two more were sent home.

The gas explosion occurred this morning, February 9th. As a result, one of the four entrances of the house collapsed completely, the second – partially. Later today, two residents of Omsk were detained: a 45-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man. According to investigators, they carried out work on the maintenance of gas stoves in several apartments of the five-story building. Employees of the regional departments of the FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs participated in their detention.

According to the TFR, the suspects were called employees of Mezhregiongaz Service LLC. At the same time, the company “Novosibirskoblgaz” was engaged in the supply of gas to the house, and “Gazprom Gas Distribution Tomsk” monitored the state of the gas networks.

The general director of Novosibirskoblgaz, Tatiana Pyanova, said that over the past two days, residents of Novosibirsk have complained about scammers who pose as employees of gas services. In a video of the interrogation released by the FSB, the detainee explains that the inspections of the gas equipment were carried out “under a contract of employment.”
