The former head of the Khabarovsk Territory, Sergei Furgal, was sentenced to 22 years in prison for organizing the murders of competitors in 2004-2005, TASS reports.

His assistant, Andrei Karepov, was sentenced to 21 years in prison. At the same time, the court ruled out the episode with the illegal acquisition of weapons due to the statute of limitations.
