The first evidence of the use of the newest Russian tank T-14 “Armata” in the zone of the special military operation was published on the network.
The corresponding video was published in Telegram-channel “Military correspondents of the Russian Spring”. In the video, the tank fires from its main gun, a 125 mm 2A82-1S smoothbore gun.
This combat vehicle was first introduced in 2015. The main feature of the T-14 tank is the uninhabited turret. All crew members are placed in an armored capsule, which is separated from the ammunition.
The main purpose of “Armata” is to support the offensive of motorized rifle units, the destruction of enemy manpower and fortifications.
Previously, these tanks were seen at training grounds in the southern regions of the Russian Federation in December 2022. At the same time, during the tests, they were fired upon with real live ammunition, which is not done anywhere else in the world.
As reported EADailyinitially, the likely appearance of a new Russian T-14 Armata tank in the special operation zone in Ukraine was caused by the dispatch of American Abrams tanks to Poland.
