Priority actions and long-term prospects for the preservation and maintenance of state archives in the regions will be assessed during the autumn session of the Federation Council. The parliamentarians came up with such an initiative at a meeting of the House Committee on Science, Education and Culture on February 13.
As part of the Days of the Vladimir region, representatives of the region spoke to the senators. Among the issues that were discussed at the committee was the transfer to the new buildings of the State Archives of the Vladimir Region. Now it is partially located in the former church, which should be returned to the jurisdiction of the Russian Orthodox Church.
The senators came up with the idea to monitor the situation in various regions of Russia and prepare proposals that could become the basis of a state program for the construction and reconstruction of such institutions.
The head of the committee, Lilia Gumerova, supported such an initiative – it will be taken up during the autumn session of the Federation Council.
