The Basmanny Court of Moscow ordered the Russian Song Theater of the People’s Artist of Russia Nadezhda Babkina to pay 600 thousand rubles to the daughters of the writer Vasily Shukshin for the illegal use of the play Red Kalina.

The claim of Shukshin’s daughters Olga and Ekaterina was partially satisfied. As compensation for copyright infringement, the writer’s heiress will receive 600 thousand rubles from the theater founded by Babkina.

“The plaintiffs demanded to completely withdraw the performance from the show, but the court refused to do so,” writes TASS with reference to the press service of the court.

Recall that Ekaterina Shukshina previously reported that the Russian Song had expired the license to use the play Red Kalina and the theater illegally used the production, the authorship of which belongs to her father.
