New regions will start working under the Russian law on education from 2026, and before that time they must complete all integration procedures. Such a law was supported by the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture at a meeting on February 13.
The document, prepared by the Government, regulates the specifics of the legal regulation of relations in the fields of education and science in connection with the admission of new subjects to Russia – the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
Lyudmila Skakovskaya, deputy chairman of the committee, explained that such features include the recognition of education, qualifications, academic degrees and titles that residents of these regions previously received.
Integration procedures and deadlines for their completion are established for educational and scientific organizations located in the territories of new subjects.
It is also stipulated that members of the National Academies of Sciences of Ukraine, who since September 30, 2022 have been living in the territory of new regions and have Russian citizenship, can qualify for monthly payments.
