State Duma deputy appreciated the statements of the Ukrainian football player Malinovsky

The State Duma commented on the statements of the Ukrainian football player Malinovsky

Ukrainian football player Ruslan Malinovsky would not demand an apology if he was mistakenly called not a Russian, but an American, said on February 13 in an interview “Sport Express” State Duma Deputy Dmitry Svishchev (LDPR).

As previously reported, American commentator Phil Schoen, during the broadcast of the Marseille-Clermont match, called the midfielder of the hosts a Russian and joked that the ball after his inaccurate hit “flew to Moscow.” Malinovsky demanded an apology.

“If they called him an American or an African, he would probably just laugh,” the deputy said.

Svishchev also recalled that Malinovsky “begged forgiveness” after he shook hands with the Russian player of Monaco Alexander Golovin at the end of one of the championship matches. However, the “apology” appeared after the Ukrainian football players began to put pressure on him, the deputy noted.

“The kind of time that needs to be experienced,” Svishchev added.
