The players of “Shinnik” did not provoke a conflict with the athletes from the Ukrainian team “Minay” in a Turkish hotel – they stood up for their teammate, who was attacked. This is stated in a statement posted on the Yaroslavl website.
At the same time, none of the Shinnik players were seriously injured during the brawl, which was confirmed by the results of the medical examination.
It is also noted that the Yaroslavl club decided to change the hotel, and now the team is safe. The incident is being investigated by local law enforcement.
Earlier, the general director of “Shinnik” Sergey Kulakov told RIA Novosti about the fight that occurred between the team’s players and the athletes from “Minaj”. Both clubs hold training camps in Turkey and stayed at the same hotel, where the brawl took place. At the same time, Kulakov said that the Yaroslavl residents booked the hotel back in November and did not know until the last moment that Ukrainian football players would also stay there.
Shinnik plays in the second division of the Russian football championship. Minai, a club from the Transcarpathian region, is a representative of the strongest Ukrainian league.
