Russian Ambassador did not rule out Putin’s visit to Indonesia in 2023

Russian President Vladimir Putin may participate in the East Asia Summit in Indonesia in 2023, Russian Ambassador to Jakarta Lyudmila Vorobyeva said. According to her, a package of documents has already been prepared that could be signed in the presence of the two leaders, including the Declaration on Strategic Partnership between Russia and Indonesia.

“Indonesia will host a number of important ASEAN events this year, including the East Asia Summit. We do not rule out – and I cannot say 100% here, but we do not rule out that, perhaps, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin will come to Indonesia, ”said Ms. Vorobyova “RIA News”. She recalled that Mr. Putin’s visit to Indonesia did not take place in 2022.

The ambassador also did not rule out a visit by Indonesian President Joko Widodo to Russia, for example, within the framework of the St. Petersburg Economic Forum.

Indonesia hosted the G20 summit in 2022. From Russia, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov took part in it.

About the summit – in the material “Kommersant” “Declaration of non-belligerence.”
