The task force of Russia entered the international headquarters for the elimination of the consequences of the earthquake in the Turkish province of Kahramanmarash. This was reported to TASS by a representative of the group. The headquarters also includes 11 countries.

“The international headquarters for the elimination of the consequences of the earthquake in the Turkish province of Kahramanmarash included 11 countries, including Russia,” the source said.

There are about 100 Russian rescuers in Turkey. They arrived there the day after the earthquake, February 7th. Rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia dismantled almost 900 sq. m. of rubble and removed from under the rubble of the body of 18 people. 50 rescuers from Russia are working in Syria.

On the night of February 6, an earthquake of magnitude 7.8 struck southeastern Turkey and northwestern Syria. It was the largest in Turkey since 1939, when 33,000 people died in the eastern province of Erzincan. On the same day, another earthquake of magnitude 7.7 struck central Turkey.

In Turkey, according to the latest data, 14,014 people died, in Syria – 3,162 people. Until February 12, inclusive, a nationwide mourning has been declared in Turkey.
