Palghar: In Maharashtra, a traffic police constable was dragged for one and a half kilometers on the bonnet of his car when he was stopped from crossing a traffic signal at Vasai in Palghar district. An official gave this information on Monday.
Senior Inspector Sampatrao Patil of Manikpur police station said that the driver of the car is 19 years old and does not even have a valid license. He told that the incident took place on Sunday and an FIR has been registered against the driver under sections including attempt to murder and other sections. Patil said that when the constable was on duty at a busy intersection in Vasai, he signaled a Uttar Pradesh-registered car to stop when it crossed a traffic signal.

He said that when the constable was enquiring, the driver started the car and dragged the policeman on the bonnet. The officer said that in this condition, the driver kept driving for about one and a half kilometer, due to which the policeman was injured. Patil said that the car stopped due to a traffic jam and passers-by caught hold of the driver and handed him over to the police.
