There is no need to introduce additional anti-epidemiological measures in Russia, despite the increase in the incidence of coronavirus, those restrictions that have not been lifted should be observed. This opinion was expressed on Friday by Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Deputy President of the Russian Academy of Education Gennady Onishchenko.
As Parlamentskaya Gazeta wrote, earlier Rospotrebnadzor announced the return of the stealth-omicron strain. According to the department, in Moscow it accounts for approximately 90 percent of the identified cases of the disease.
“Should additional measures be introduced? I would put a different emphasis here: it is necessary to comply with those measures that have not been canceled. After all, from the fact that we will introduce twice as many measures, but will not comply with them, nothing will change, ”quotes Radio Sputnik Onishchenko. In his opinion, it is better to comply with the already introduced measures – wear a mask when sick, do not ride the subway at rush hour, revaccinate, eat normally, sleep and walk.
“And even less to rummage on the Internet, especially on those sites that like to distribute horror stories. Nobody hides the situation – neither our Ministry of Health, nor WHO, everyone calls for reasonable caution, but not for panic, ”he concluded.
Earlier, immunologist Nikolai Kryuchkov explained why the coronavirus is more dangerous than the flu. According to the doctor, although the flu can lead to complications, COVID-19 nevertheless remains number one in terms of pathogenicity and lethality.
