Norway denies involvement in Nord Stream explosions

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway called nonsense the information about Oslo’s involvement in explosions at sections of the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea on September 25. Earlier this was written by American journalist Seymour Hersh.

“These accusations are nonsense,” the Norwegian Foreign Ministry told RIA Novosti in response to a request for comment on the relevant information.

The Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Seymour Hersh wrote about Norway’s involvement in the Nord Stream explosions on the Substack platform.

According to the journalist, the explosives were planted under the pipes in June 2022 by American divers who acted under the cover of NATO exercises. Hersh’s investigation alleges that the signal activated a sonar buoy that was dropped by Norway’s Orion P8 reconnaissance aircraft on orders from Joe Biden. The White House called the report of involvement in the blowing up of pipelines a complete lie and a complete fiction.

Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that the US should expect consequences if this information is confirmed.
