In Russia, it is necessary to change the system of maternity capital in order to increase the number of large families in Russia. In addition, everyone who defended the Donbass, starting from 2014 and until the start of the special military operation (SVO) in Ukraine, should be equated with combatants. Such proposals at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin will be made by the head of the Duma faction “A Just Russia – For Truth”, State Duma deputy Sergei Mironov, he told URA.RU.
“One of the main topics that I intend to raise at a meeting with the President is demography. In the last few years, we have been losing the population of one rather big city every year. Our faction has proposals that can reverse this demographic trend, I will talk about some of them at the meeting. In particular, about the progressive scale of maternity capital. In its current form, the mother capital program stimulates only the birth of first-born children, and to improve the demographic situation, we need large families. Therefore, I will propose to the President to provide for new support measures, one of which could be direct payments to families with many children,” Mironov told URA.RU.
The topic of the special operation in Ukraine will occupy a significant part of the deputy’s communication with the president. “Another important topic of the meeting is support for combatants and protection of their rights. Moreover, not only those who are now fighting for the future of the country on the fronts of the Northern Military District, but also those who have fought for the freedom of Donbass since 2014. I have a specific proposal: to equate all the soldiers of the Donbass from 2014 until the start of the NMD to the participants in the hostilities,” the head of A Just Russia – For Truth suggests.
The last topic of the meeting will be housing and communal services. “Another very acute topic that I plan to talk about is the increase in housing and communal services tariffs that hits the budgets of citizens. Not only did the government raise tariffs twice last year, the actual growth since the beginning of this year in many regions exceeded the declared 9%, the total amount of payments in some places rose by 30-40%. I have already said that such growth creates the ground for a real “communal Maidan”. Here we need preventive measures, it is necessary to conduct a total audit of pricing in housing and communal services, to limit citizens’ expenses for housing and communal services to 15% of their income, as our faction proposes, ”Mironov revealed his proposal to URA.RU.
From February 13 to February 16, Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold meetings with the heads of the Duma factions. These are traditional meetings before the address to the Federal Assembly. However, this year the meetings will be one-on-one with the leaders of the parties, and not with the team, as it was before.
