In Russia, it is necessary to ban the sale of all elements of electronic cigarettes without presenting a passport, including on the Internet. This was stated by the chairman of the State Duma Committee on Youth Policy Artem Metelev (United Russia) in his Telegram channel.
Earlier, as Parlamentskaya Gazeta wrote, State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin instructed representatives of relevant committees of the chamber to work out proposals on the possibility of a complete ban on vaping. He also drew attention to the fact that the problem of selling such goods is primarily connected with the predilection of school-age children for them.
According to Metelev, this initiative revealed many problems on the topic. “It turned out that there is a ban on the sale of electronic cigarettes for minors in a number of regions, but even a first-grader can buy their components,” the deputy said. He noted that such goods can be purchased directly on trading platforms on the Internet.
“It will be necessary to expand the ban on the sale of all elements of electronic cigarettes without presenting a passport, even on the Internet,” the parliamentarian believes. Metelev also called for a multiple increase in the amount of the fine for violating the ban – now it is “ridiculous three thousand rubles.”
Meanwhile, “Parliamentary newspaper” figured out how smoking electronic cigarettes could turn out. So, according to a member of the State Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption Biysultan Khamzaev (United Russia), vapes are dangerous because marketers present them as a more harmless analogue of cigarettes.
