Medvedchuk claims that the former Ukrainian president asked him several times to mediate on this issue. At the same time, the chairman of the political council of the Opposition Platform for Life emphasizes that Putin’s position on Donbass was different.

According to him, in those years, the Russian leader constantly stated that Donbass is Ukraine. Medvedchuk agrees that the Minsk agreements were an attempt to give the Ukrainian side time to prepare for a future armed conflict with Russia.

The chairman of the political council of the Opposition Platform for Life also pointed out that Ukraine ignored the idea of a peaceful settlement. Medvedchuk added that the situation with the Minsk agreements speaks of “double morality” leaders of the EU countries who participated in the process, as well as Petro Poroshenko and the current president of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky.

As reported IA REGNUMFebruary 11, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova declared the need to fix and qualify in the legal field the deception of the West about the goals of the Minsk agreements.
