Lok Sabha Secretariat Gives Notice To Rahul Gandhi In Breach Of Privilege Case Seeks Reply By February 15

Lok Sabha Secretariat Notice to Rahul Gandhi: A notice has been sent to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on behalf of the Lok Sabha Secretariat in the matter of breach of privilege. The Lok Sabha Secretariat has asked Rahul Gandhi to reply by February 15. On the complaint of BJP MP Nishikant Dubey and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi, the Lok Sabha Secretariat sent this notice to Rahul Gandhi via email on Friday (10 February).

In which case of breach of privilege, notice was sent to Rahul?

In fact, in the budget session of Parliament, the President Draupadi Murmu Addressing the House on February 7, during the discussion on the motion of thanks on the address, Rahul Gandhi surrounded the Central Government on the alleged Modi-Adani relationship. His language used during that time was questioned by BJP MPs. Some portions of Rahul’s speech were also removed from the proceedings (from the records) of the House. Rahul has been accused of making misleading, derogatory, unparliamentary and objectionable statements. BJP MP Nishikant Dubey and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi complained about the same in the Lok Sabha Secretariat.

According to the complaint, the words used by Rahul Gandhi while speaking in the House constituted a breach of privilege. The Lok Sabha Secretariat has summoned Rahul Gandhi’s answer to know his side. The secretariat has also asked Rahul Gandhi to provide his information on receipt of the notice.

Kharge also accused of speaking unparliamentary language

Let us inform that apart from Rahul Gandhi, Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge has also been accused of using unparliamentary language in the House. The Congress President has also given this information in the media and public meetings. According to Kharge, he did not say anything wrong, yet his words were expunged from the record.

Inaugurating the ‘Hath se Hath’ Jodo campaign of the Congress in Jharkhand’s Sahebganj on Saturday (February 11), Kharge targeted the central government and even said that there is no freedom of speech either inside or outside Parliament, whatever Speaks, writes and shows the truth, he is sent to jail.

The Congress is constantly attacking the BJP-led central government on the issue of unparliamentary language and has written a letter to the Lok Sabha speaker, urging him to put parts of Rahul Gandhi’s speech on record again.
