Life expectancy increased in Russia in 2022


In 2022, life expectancy increased to 72.6 years, said Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova. At the end of 2022, this figure was expected to be 72.4 years.

“Infant mortality has decreased, more than 1,600 primary care facilities have been created, 1.4 million high-tech medical care operations have been performed,” Ms. Golikova was quoted by her secretariat as saying following the meeting on the Healthcare national project (quote from TASS).

Life expectancy in 2021 was 70.6 years, the head of the Ministry of Health Mikhail Murashko at the end of 2022 said that life expectancy at the end of the year would be 72.4 years. Prior to this, Mr. Murashko said that by the end of 2022, life expectancy could increase to 71.8 years.
