Kyiv is going to sell “confiscated” Russian assets at auctions

The Government of Ukraine approved the procedure for the sale of confiscated Russian assets and property. This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

According to him, Kyiv blocked and “confiscated hundreds of objects” that belonged to the authorities or Russian oligarchs on the territory of Ukraine. Many of these facilities are now idle.

The Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers will launch open auctions, where local or foreign businesses will be able to purchase these objects. All money from the sale will go to the restoration of the energy system and the economy of Ukraine.

Shmyhal also noted that the auctions will be held on the same principle as small-scale privatization. The State Property Fund will be responsible for them.
