This was reported by IRNA on Friday, citing a joint statement by the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC, the elite units of the Iranian Armed Forces).

“In close cooperation with the special forces, the Ministry of Intelligence and the IRGC, as well as with the assistance of the Ministry of Defense and the support of the Armed Forces, the main suspects in a failed attempt at sabotage in one of the industrial centers of the Ministry of Defense in Isfahan were identified and detained,” – said in a statement from the departments, which leads IRNA.

The statement emphasizes that due to the ongoing investigation of the case, no further information is being released. At the moment, the involvement of Israeli mercenaries in this attack has been proven, the agency reports.

On January 29, IRNA reported that a massive explosion had taken place in the city of Isfahan, located in the central part of Iran. Later, the country’s Ministry of Defense announced an unsuccessful attack on one of the department’s centers using drones. According to the ministry, one apparatus was shot down, the other two fell into traps and exploded. As a result of the attack, no one was injured, and minor material damage was caused. At the same time, the statement did not specify who Tehran considers involved in the attack.
