Karen Donfried: Karen Donfried, Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs in the US, has praised India amid the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. He said in a statement that the US welcomes India’s call to immediately end the unprovoked war between the two countries.

US Assistant Secretary of State Karen Donfried spoke in a telephonic press briefing on Wednesday with Geoffrey R. Piatt, Assistant Secretary of the Bureau of Energy Resources in her country. He said the US welcomes India’s approach to Ukraine. Actually, PM Modi had said many important things about Russia and Ukraine war in the past. He called for an end to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Karen Donfried recalled welcoming the words of the PM at the G20 summit in Bali. In which PM Modi had said that today’s era is not of war. Karen Donfried said that India’s leadership role in G20 is commendable.

“We don’t want to impose sanctions on India. Our partnership with India is one of our most productive relationships,” Donfried said. India did nothing to provoke this Ukraine war, he said. But Putin Had expected a quick victory. Russia was undermining Ukraine, which was unfair.” Donfried said, “Russia alone can end this war today. My boss, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, said that If Russia stops fighting, the war will end, but if Ukraine stops fighting, Ukraine will end. If Putin wins, it will mean defeat for Ukraine and for everyone.”
