“Give up St. Petersburg.” The US unexpectedly reacted to the plan for Ukraine

MOSCOW, February 20 — The West will not be able to achieve the return to Ukraine of those territories that it lost since the beginning of the special operation, former US intelligence officer Scott Ritter said on the YouTube channel Danny Haiphong.
“The United States said that it might be worth giving up Crimea (to Russia – Ed.). <...> In exchange for what? Do you expect Russia to give up Kherson? No, it’s part of Russia. Zaporozhye? Impossible, it’s Russian territory . LPR? DPR? <…> This is tantamount to asking Russia to give up Vladivostok, St. Petersburg or Moscow,” he noted.
According to the military man, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are literally falling apart: they have no ammunition, and they also lack manpower. Ritter added that the Kyiv regime has no choice. They expect to get their way, but Russia will not make concessions, he explained.
“This conflict will end when Ukraine begins negotiations on its unconditional surrender, maybe in Kyiv, maybe in Lvov, maybe somewhere else,” Ritter concluded.
Moscow has repeatedly indicated that it is ready for negotiations, but Kyiv has introduced a ban on them at the legislative level. As presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov emphasized, the Kremlin does not see the prerequisites for the situation to transition to a peaceful direction. According to him, the absolute priority is to achieve the goals of the special operation, but now this is only possible through military means.
