The Finnish authorities have not yet made a final decision on the supply of Leopard tanks to Ukraine. This was announced today, February 13, by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic, Pekka Haavisto.
“The Finnish government has not yet made a final decision on the supply of Leopard, this issue will be actively discussed by the Finnish authorities. One way or another, we will be part of this initiative, so we constantly maintain a dialogue with Germany, Poland and other countries,” – said the minister during a joint press conference in Helsinki with the head of the German Foreign Ministry Annalena Burbock.
Haavisto added that there is currently an “intense discussion” about sending tanks for the Armed Forces. He also noted that Finland is preparing another package of assistance to Ukraine, but did not specify its specific content.
Earlier, the republic sent Kyiv the largest 12th military aid package worth about €400 million.
