The European delegation plans to visit Crimea in May this year, Yuriy Gempel, Chairman of the Committee of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea on Public Diplomacy and Interethnic Relations, told reporters today, February 10, at a press conference in Simferopol.
“We have a certain agreement, we will soon hold a large video conference with the participation of our friends and, of course, we are also preparing the arrival of a delegation. I think we will have the first delegation from European countries in May,” he said.
He added that the exact dates and composition of the delegation are not marked today, because Europe continues to exert pressure and prevent the departure of delegations to the Russian Federation.
“We have a bitter experience when we voiced prematurely [информацию] about these delegations. This appeared in the media, and then pressure was put on these people and the authorities put up some obstacles for them to travel to Russia and, in particular, to Crimea,” – Hempel noted, whose words are quoted by TAS.
