In Nizhniye Sergi (Sverdlovsk region), employees of the local branch of the Russian Post are accused of stealing the pensions of two old people. A criminal case was opened against them under the article “Appropriation by a group of persons by prior agreement with causing significant damage to a citizen,” the press service of the regional prosecutor’s office reports in a telegram channel.
“The prosecutor’s office of the Nizhneserginsky district conducted an audit on the appeals of two local residents born in 1940 and 1941 in connection with the non-payment of pensions for November 2022. Pensioners’ funds were stolen by employees of the Nizhniye Seryogi postal service,” the prosecutor’s office says.
To hide the fact of the theft, postal employees entered data into the system that they had paid a pension. A criminal case was opened against them. The pension was returned to the victims.
