Earthquake death toll rises to 1,387 in Syria


In Syria, the death toll from the earthquake has risen to 1,387, with 2,326 injured. This was announced on Friday by the Ministry of Health of the country.

On the morning of February 6, an earthquake of magnitude 7.7 occurred in Turkey, and in the afternoon a second cataclysm was recorded in the country.

“The death toll has risen to 1,387, the injured to 2,326,” RIA Novosti quoted the Syrian agency as saying.

Earlier it became known that in Turkey the number of victims of the earthquake exceeded 20 thousand people, more than 80 thousand citizens were injured. According to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, this natural disaster is the largest in the country since 1939, when more than 32,000 people died.
