Corriere della Sera spoke about the details of the escape of Artem Uss from arrest in Italy

The son of the governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Alexander Ussa, Artem managed to escape from house arrest in the suburbs of Milan, with the help of six or seven accomplices, Corriere della Sera reports, citing sources in the Italian law enforcement agencies. It is thought that at least four vehicles may have been involved in Uss’s escape.

“The Russian Artem Uss, according to the carabinieri and investigators, can use the services of a certain group, presumably from citizens of Eastern European countries, in order to leave Italian territory,” the Italian publication says.

Corriere della Sera sources claim that at least two of the vehicles used during the escape of Mr. Uss had a large capacity, which made it possible to quickly deliver the son of the Krasnoyarsk governor to the national border.

Reports of the escape of the son of the governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory appeared on March 23. According to Corriere della Sera, Mr. Uss may already be outside of Italy.

Artem Uss was detained in Milan on October 17, 2022 at the request of the US Department of Justice. US authorities accuse him of smuggling oil, exporting military technology through shell companies and money laundering. He denies his guilt.

On October 27, Artem Uss was arrested in absentia in Russia on suspicion of money laundering, he was put on the federal wanted list. On December 2, Artem Uss was transferred to house arrest in a suburb of Milan. On March 21, an Italian court ordered the extradition of Mr. Uss to the United States.
