Training of the Ukrainian military to work with Leopard 2 tanks in Poland is carried out, among other things, by instructors from Canada and Norway. This was stated by the Minister of National Defense of Poland, Mariusz Blaszczak, on the air of Polish television, TASS reports.
According to him, on the “tank coalition” “negotiations with the Spanish side have gone far.” Tanks were transferred to Poland by Canada, now Warsaw is waiting for Norwegian tanks and instructors from this country.
Recall that on February 3, Poland announced the start of retraining of Ukrainian servicemen for Leopard tanks.
On January 11, Polish President Andrzej Duda announced the delivery of a company of German Leopard tanks to Kyiv. On January 24, Poland turned to Germany for permission to transfer the tanks, Berlin agreed.
On January 25, the transfer of 14 Leopard 2 tanks to Kyiv was announced by Germany itself, announcing plans to transfer a total of two tank battalions. The supply of German tanks to Ukraine was also reported by Spain, Finland and a number of other countries. Also, the transfer of 31 Abrams tanks was confirmed in the United States.
