Britain explained Scholz’s decision to supply tanks to Ukraine

London, 13 February 2023, 01:32 — REGNUM Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz decided to supply tanks to Ukraine, thus wanting to protect himself and keep his position, says the director of strategy, technology and arms control of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) William Alberke.

The expert stated this in a commentary to the British newspaper Daily Telegraph. Alberke believes that Scholz’s decision was influenced not only by pressure from the Western allies, but also by internal factors.

The expert said that the German Chancellor is trying to compete with the German Foreign Minister Annalena Burbockwhich promotes the transfer of tanks to Ukraine.
