At the end of 2022, about 43 thousand transit ships were blocked in the port of Rotterdam, the route of which was supposed to end in Russia or Belarus. This was stated by Russian Ambassador to the Netherlands, Permanent Representative to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons Alexander Shulgin.
“According to the available information, as of the end of 2022, about 43,000 transit cargoes with the destination Russia / Belarus were blocked in the port of Rotterdam. The Russian Trade Representation in the Netherlands organized work to facilitate their delivery to the final destination. In total, assistance was provided for more hundreds of shipments, said Ambassador in an interview with RIA Novosti.
As Shulgin noted, the situation with the transportation of goods between Russia and the Netherlands is significantly complicated, direct flights have been stopped, trucks with Russian numbers are prohibited from entering the EU territory and Russian ships from entering European ports.
