An earthquake of magnitude 5.8 occurred near the Kuril Islands

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8 was registered on February 13 in the Pacific Ocean near the Kuril Islands. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

According to the agency, the epicenter of the earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8, which occurred on February 13 at 16:56 (8:56 Moscow time), was located 59 kilometers south of the uninhabited Kuril island of Simushir. The source of the earthquake was located at a depth of 101 km.

It is specified that tremors were not felt on Iturup Island.
