In the city of Vereshchagino, Perm Territory, a memorial was opened in honor of six law enforcement officers who died in service. This was reported to URA.RU by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the region.
“The monument at the building of the internal affairs department was opened by the head of the regional headquarters, police lieutenant general Alexander Shcheglov, and the head of the Vereshchaginsky police department, colonel Alexander Kozhevnikov. The names of the dead heroes: Ivan Yuzhakov, Pavel Ovchenkov, Savely Shatrov, Vyacheslav Starkov, Dmitry Gorbunov and Alexey Bykov,” the department clarified.
Veterans of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reminded those present at the opening of the memorial that it is important to remember those who gave their lives for the country. Representatives of the district mayor’s office also came to honor the memory of law enforcement officers.
Earlier in Perm, near the Kirov Palace of Culture, an alley was planted in honor of the heroes of the special operation. The activists chose bird cherry because it also grows on Mamayev Kurgan.
