A gang of intruders will answer in court for stealing diesel fuel for 11 million rubles in the Leningrad region. Law enforcement officers have completed the investigation of a high-profile criminal case, reports the head of the Information and Public Relations Department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, Vyacheslav Stepchenko.
Eight members of the criminal community will be in the dock. According to the investigation, the attackers were engaged in the theft of oil products from the main oil product pipeline in the Tosnensky and Vyborgsky districts of the Leningrad region. By tie-in, the thieves received fuel, after which they poured the stolen into a secret container hidden in the back of the MAZ.
In total, the defendants stole at least 246 tons of diesel fuel. On the fact of the state of emergency, a criminal case was initiated under article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Theft”). Law enforcement officers seized the vehicles and real estate of the accused. The proceedings with the approved indictment were sent to the Tosnensky City Court of the Leningrad Region for further consideration on the merits.
Earlier it became known that a resident of Tatarstan, accused of embezzling 200 million rubles from mother’s capital, will appear before the court in Crimea. Due to fictitious transactions, 535 people lost the right to dispose of money, reported RT.
