A was convicted in on Friday for falsely claiming to be a member of the Wagner Group, as reported by The Times. Convicted at ‘s Old Bailey Criminal Court.

According to the report, Piotr Kucharski, from Watford, admitted to pretending to be a member of the Wagner Group between September 15 and October 28, 2023. Prosecutors,stated that there is no evidence that Kucharski was actually involved with the organization.

Kucharski, previously served 15 years in prison for armed robbery, has been released on bail while awaiting a final court decision in November.

The case led to the Wagner Group being officially classified as a terrorist organization. And it follows the UK’s recent decision to do so. Supporting or claiming membership in the group can now lead to a prison sentence of up to 14 years, and the government has gained the authority to seize its assets.
