Kucharski, who previously served 15 years in prison for armed robbery, has been released on bail while awaiting a final court decision in November.
The case led to the Wagner Group being officially classified as a terrorist organization. And it follows the UK’s recent decision to do so. Supporting or claiming membership in the group can now lead to a prison sentence of up to 14 years, and the government has gained the authority to seize its assets.
