United States grappled with a wave of gun violence Monday night as separate shootings in New York City and Nevada left ten people dead and a dozen injured. Law enforcement agencies launched immediate investigations into both incidents which have sent shockwaves through local communities.

In New York City, a brazen attack unfolded Monday evening at a skyscraper in Manhattan’s Midtown area. A gunman opened fire at the 634-foot-tall building located at 345 Park Avenue, a bustling part of the city. Four individuals lost their lives in the tragic event before the assailant took his own life. The sudden sound of gunfire sent people scrambling in panic.
Authorities identified the deceased shooter as Sean Devon Temura, a 27-year-old Las Vegas resident. Police released an image showing Temura entering the building with a firearm.
Meanwhile, a separate shooting earlier the same day in Nevada claimed three lives and injured at least six more. Police reported that an attacker indiscriminately fired shots around 7:30 AM at the valet entrance of the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno.
Police are actively investigating both incidents. A heightened sense of alert has been issued in both cities, and fear grips local residents. According to data from Gun Violence Archive, New York attack marks the 254th gun violence incident in United States this year contributing to hundreds of fatalities.
