President Donald Trump has approved the construction of a 9,000-square-foot ballroom in East Wing of the White House, with work set to begin this September.

The project, which will cost $200 million, aims to create the largest indoor venue for events held at the White House.
White House spokesperson Karyn Levitt stated that the modernization of the East Wing is the driving force behind this initiative. During the construction period, staff from t East Wing, including aides to First Lady Melania Trump, will be temporarily relocated. Trump, along with some of his close donors, will personally finance the project.

In the past, Trump has expressed concerns about the absence of a suitable large-scale event space in the White House. This new ballroom is designed to fill that void, providing an appropriate venue for grand gatherings.
