Protesters near Yakum kibbutz, about 30 kilometers north of Tel Aviv, set tires ablaze Tuesday, blocking a major highway. Over a hundred people flooded streets, chanting slogans amid drum beats that echoed through the area. Black smoke blanketed surroundings, causing massive traffic jams.

Demonstrators waved Israeli flags alongside yellow banners symbolizing the hostage crisis. Many carried posters and photos of loved ones detained by Hamas. They occupied the highway and nearby footbridges, drawing participants from all walks of life.

Calls ring out for swift ceasefire to bring hostages home. This action forms part of a declared “Day of Disruption” across Israel. Families of captives urge Prime Minister Netanyahu to negotiate with Hamas, showing solidarity through these rallies.

At the US embassy yellow ribbons join hostage images as symbols of hope for release. Such demonstrations persist regularly since the Gaza clash began in October 2023. Pressure mounts on the government daily to return relatives safely.
